Hey I am back! I am actually quite excited that people are reading my blog! Thanks for stopping by babes / guys! ❤ So I have decided to work harder and come up with another product review for everyone to look at.

I had bought the Clinique’s Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil quite a few months back and thought it would be a really awesome product to try out. Seriously, there has been a number of youtubers and bloggers talking about it. I cannot seem to give it a miss here.. right?!

So.. before I head on to my review, here are some information provided on the Clinique’s website on the product.

  • Works for all skin types
  • Immediately dissolves tenacious face makeup, oil & impurities
  • Leaves no residue
  • Most importantly, for all contact lens users out there – It is Ophthalmologist tested!

Hooray!! That means that there will be lesser eye stinging and lesser eye infections, yea?

My First Experience

So when I first reached out to this bottle of cleansing oil, I was thinking in my head “Oh, it’s going to work like every other regular cleansing oils in the market.” But Clinique’s Take the Day Off, took me by surprise! It felt great on my skin, it was soothing and I could go on for almost a good 15 minutes of face massage before emulsifying with water and it does not dry my skin out.

Also, whenever I had used this cleansing oil, I had always felt like my pores were unclogged from all that dirt and oil sebum. It made me felt like using the cleansing oil not only for the sake of removing my make up but also removing of my sunblocks. It has made face cleansing so much easier, better than it seems.

“Opthamologist Tested” – Just how true is it?

As a contact lens user, I had never liked using cleansing oils on the eye area. Solely because IT EFFING STINGS! I believe every contact lens users will have experienced the same situation as I did. It will start with a slight stinging pain going on to cloudy visions and then after resulting in dry eyes.

Damn! I never liked that feeling. Also because of the fact that some cleansing oils are too oily or that they contain some sort of mineral oils in them, in some way or another it has made me afraid of using them around my eyes. Just to make sure that I do not start growing oil seeds under my eyes. However, with the Clinique’s Take the Day Off, cleaning off eye make up became more convenient, cheaper (without having to get a separate eye make up cleanser), Safer!

How effective is Clinique Take the Day Off?

So let’s start to take a closer look into the product. Clinique Take the Day Off is fragrance-free, allergy tested and formulated with a natural oil-like ingredient from the Castor Bean Plant.

So here we go.. Some of the products that I have placed on my hand to run the test..

  1. Innisfree No Sebum BB Cream
  2. MAC Lipstick
  3. Maybeline Volume Express The Rocket Waterproof Mascara
  4. Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner (Sorry, but I hardly put on any waterproof eyeliners, so I don’t have one to run this test)

So.. I went on to put a pump of the cleansing oil on my hand..

Here’s how it looks after a couple of massages and adding of water to emulsify the oil formula..

After a couple of rinses, VOILA!

I will think this is a rather effective, safe oil cleanser to use. However, if you are tight on a budget, I will say no to purchasing this because it is priced at $42 in Sephora Singapore. Yet again, on a serious note, I will advise you to never scrimp on skincare products. Well, you only have one skin and you are going to live with it for the rest of your life, pamper it when you can!

If you were to ask me, I am currently still looking for a friendlier-alternative to this. Mainly because I had honestly no clue this product was tested on animals and hence, I went ahead and purchased it. But if you were asking me if I will like to repurchase this, it will definitely be a NO. Definitely not when I have always been a pet owner and an animal lover.

So.. if you do see this post, please share with me your current make up removers and their benefits please. I will love to look out for them!

Thanks for reading, xoxo
